G. van Reekum establishes a technical trading office in Apeldoorn. Activities focus on coppersmithing and plumbing work. The foundation for more than a century of craftsmanship in water and materials is laid.
VRM establishes itself permanently in Apeldoorn and focuses entirely on the production of perforated pipes and filters for water extraction and groundwater measurement. Perforating and casing pipes becomes the core of the company.
The company further develops as a metal trade and technical supplier for the Apeldoorn region and its surroundings.
VRM produces iron castings for Remeha central heating boilers. In 1954, the activities are split and VRM refocuses on its core activity: pipes and filters for water extraction.
VRM introduces PVC as a pipe material. A milestone: PVC becomes the standard for monitoring wells and well screens in the Dutch water infrastructure. VRM grows into a specialist in precision slotting of plastic pipes.
On November 10, 1972, Van Reekum NV is converted into Van Reekum Materials BV. The organization is modernized and the focus on plastic processing is further sharpened.
During this period, VRM undergoes several changes in ownership. The company remains located in Apeldoorn and maintains its specialization in plastic pipes and filters for water infrastructure.
VRM starts the development of the BioBuis: a biodegradable monitoring well made of Solanyl bioplastic. A proprietary product, developed and produced in Apeldoorn. In 2013, the BioBuis receives KIWA BRL K567 certification.
VRM is acquired by Water Quality Holding BV. Together with sister company Omniplast, VRM forms a strong combination. The growth strategy Target 20 is launched: aiming for 20 million euros in turnover by 2031.
